Antique Black Barrier Tiles

Antique Black barrier tiles are a super commercial duty carpet tile designed for intense industrial use. The base colour is a deep black, interspersed by a rich caramel fleck. This unique colour combination gives a quality feel and makes them look almost 'burnished' on the surface and are particularly attractive once laid. These 50cm x 50cm tiles were created primarily for entry ways and should be laid in conjunction with standard carpet tiles. When used in entrances they eliminate the need for a separate mat which can often slip or ruck up. Their diagonal ribbed rough textured surface have been specially constructed to remove mud and dirt from feet leaving it trapped in the grooved pile. These 1,100g extra heavy weight tiles make them ideal for all doorways, receptions and foyers. The pile also assists in absorbing moisture from constant foot traffic by moving it to the lower layers of the pile reducing water from being carried further into the building. This not only helps to prolong the life of the standard carpet tiles but extends the periods between cleaning. Manufactured from 100% polypropylene fibre. These barrier tiles can be either loose laid or stuck down with double-sided carpet tape. For larger areas we recommend using carpet tile tackifier. This is a special liquid form (pressure sensitive) adhesive which offers a labour saving alternative to tape. Both products are available for purchase on our site.

Please note that these adhesives are specially designed to give a semi permanent bond to the subfloor. This means that in the future damaged/stained tiles can be easily lifted to be cleaned or replaced.
